January Festivals in Lima

Founded by Francisco Pizarro on Monday January 18th of 1535 and called “La Ciudad de los Reyes” (city of the kings), history says that Pizarro marked with his own sword the borders of the actual Plaza de Armas. The Government Palace was designed by Pizarro, but has been rebuilt several times since them.
