October Festivals in Lima
Combate de Angamos: October 8 th.
The Combate de Angamos (Combat of Angamos) was a navy war against Chile in which Peru lost Miguel Grau, a Peruvian hero. He died at The Huascar while he was fighting the Chilean forces.
Señor de los Milagros: October 18 th - 28 th.
This is one of the biggest processions in Peru where hundreds of people march on the streets dressed in purple following the statue, carried by 8 men and a band.
Feria Taurina: October.
At the Plaza de Acho (bullring), there are usually some activities related with traditional bullfighting. There is much Peruvian food during this celebration.
Dia de la Cancion Criolla: October 31 st.
This day celebrates criolla music, along with criolla food. Peñas are a good place to go for celebrations during this day.
